City of Atlanta Prepared for College Football Playoff National Championship

Who: Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms, Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields, Atlanta Fire Rescue Chief Joel Baker, FBI Atlanta Division Special Agent in Charge David LeValley and Bill Hancock, College Football Playoff Executive Director. Representatives from the GBI, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, MARTA, Georgia World Congress Center Authority and other local, state and federal agencies are also expected to attend.

What: The City of Atlanta and its local, state and federal partners to discuss months of public safety and emergency preparedness plans leading up to the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, January 8. More than 100,000 visitors expected for the game and related events over the weekend.

When: Thursday, January 4, 2018, 1 p.m.

Where: Atlanta Public Safety Headquarters, 226 Peachtree Street, S.W. Atlanta, GA 30303. Please arrive in the lobby ahead of 1 p.m. and you will be escorted up to the news conference on the 2nd floor.

Note: The news conference will be broadcast live via Periscope on the APD’s Twitter account at @Atlanta_Police. We will also record for posting later in the day.
