Zone 3 Officers arrest armed robbery suspect

Atlanta Police Officers in Zone 3 caught an armed robbery suspect shortly after he robbed a Papa John's Pizza in Southwest Atlanta.

On October 11th, 2017 officers responded to Papa John's Pizza on the 2600 block of Metropolitan Parkway around 11:30 p.m. The suspect allegedly used a handgun to demand money from the cash register and ran from the store.

A person matching the description of the suspect was seen nearby on Cleveland Avenue, as officers approached the suspect ran into a wooded area. Officers quickly set up a perimeter and requested a K9 to respond to the scene.

The K9 was able to track down the suspect in the woods. The suspect was taken into custody, the gun and money were found to be still in his possession. The gun was reported stolen from Morrow Police Department in July of 2017.

25-year-old Michael Dwayne Ogletree was arrested and faces charges of armed robbery, reckless conduct, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, obstruction, and five counts of aggravated assault.
