On November 12, 2002, Malachi S. Hull was appointed Director, Taxicab Bureau and Vehicles for Hire for the Atlanta Police Department. Director Hull served as Director of Sales and Chief Financial Officer for Abraham Real Estate and Associates since 1993.
Since joining in 1994, Director Hull recently served as Company Commander in the United States Army Reserves. His unit was responsible for the training of soldiers entering the military, as well as the re-training of military units throughout the nation prior to their deployments. Director Hull was commissioned as a Finance Officer in 1998. Since his commissioning, he has been qualified in disbursing, accounting, funding, and comptrolling. His additional duties included safety officer and drug prevention leader. As safety officer, he was responsible for making risk assessments and implementing safety in all training. As drug prevention leader, he was tasked with implementing proactive drug education programs, accommodating drug rehabilitation, and performing random urinalysis for drug screenings.
Director Hull has been very active in the political realm. He served as a coordinator for street efforts in several campaigns as well as recently serving as campaign chairman. As campaign chairman, he was responsible for submitting campaign finance reports, securing campaign donations, organizing community involvement, and building partnerships. He is a commissioned Civil Sheriff and has provided dignitary protection for several major political figures.
Director Hull has also been very active in community involvement. He served as an advisor for the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. As advisor, he coordinated mentor programs, fund-raisers, voter registration drives, blood drives, and community service events. Director Hull was awarded the Kappa Alpha Psi Service Award for reviving the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi which had been non-functional for 3 years.
In addition, Director Hull served as the Vice-President of the New Orleans Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was responsible for budget planning, as well as overseeing all committee meetings. While serving his term, he was very instrumental in building partnerships with the local businesses in addition to securing funds from outside sources.
In September, 2003, Director Hull was elected to the International Association of Transportation Regulator's (IATR) Board of Directors. IATR is a professional association where by transportation regulators find solutions to issues and problems that are common in the field of commercial transportation. As a board member, Director Hull was responsible for offering recommendations to the industry as it related to policy changes, legislative matters, and training issues.
In September 2008, Director Hull was elected President of the International Association of Transportation Regulators. As President he assumes responsibility for implementing cultural leadership systems to build partnerships with all vehicles for hire stakeholders through creating common goals and objectives. Implementation of this strategy will result in the building of high performance teams to improve the vehicle for hire industry as a whole. Director Hull will also be responsible for the development of recruitment initiatives for the Association. In addition to several major cities, IATR's membership includes representatives from around the world, such as London, the Netherlands, Australia, Bermuda, Toronto, Quebec, Edmonton, and Ontario.
In September of 2009, Director Hull implemented an International Driver Recognition Ceremony (IDRC). This ceremony honored drivers for their commitment, dedication, and outstanding service to the riding public. The ceremony will be held, annually, at the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR) training conference.
Director Hull has a B.A. in Business Management and a Masters of Business Administration.
