Youth Programs

The Atlanta Police Department offers several programs connecting officers with local youth.

Athletic Youth Programs
The Police Athletic League (PAL) is a non-profit program that uses sports, education and recreation to connect police and local youth.  PAL offers citywide seasonal activities including summer camp, mentoring, homework assistance and sporting activities.

Career Development Youth Programs
The Junior Cadet program prepares high school seniors for careers within the police department. In partnership with the city's Workforce Development Agency, the program provides an in-depth overview of policing and professionalism.

The APD Internship Program offers college students the opportunity to work with the largest full-time police department in the Southeast. Students receive valuable work experience in the field of law enforcement and are placed based on field of study. All internship opportunities are unpaid.
