UPDATE:

Atlanta police homicide detectives were able to establish probable cause and secure arrest warrants for Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony against 17-year-old Jermarcus Jernigan. On April 26, 2023, Mr. Jernigan turned himself in at the Zone 1 Precinct and was later transported to the Fulton County Jail and taken into their custody without incident.

Preliminary Information: On 4/18/23 around 10:42 pm, officers responded to 2457 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim with an apparent gunshot wound. She was not alert, conscious or breathing and pronounced deceased on scene by AFR. Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
