Preliminary statement

On September 10, 2025, at around 12:48am, Atlanta police responded to a person armed call at 75 14th St NE at the Four Seasons Hotel in the lobby area. Upon arrival, officers immediately encountered the armed male in front of the hotel and upon site of officers, the suspect fled on foot towards the parking garage.

 

During this time, officers gave the suspect multiple loud verbal commands to drop the weapon, however he refused which led to the officers discharging their firearm, striking the suspect. The officers immediately rendered aid; however, the suspect was pronounced deceased on scene by Grady EMS.

 

No officers were injured during the incident. Homicide and Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI) investigators were notified and responded to the scene. The GBI will lead this investigation.
