Preliminary Statement: On October 2nd, 2025, at approximately 6:45PM, officers responded to Emory Midtown Hospital located at 550 Peachtree Street NE in reference to a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old female who sustained an apparent gunshot wound to her right leg. The female was alert, conscious, breathing, and was being attended to by medical personnel. The preliminary investigation indicates that the incident initially occurred in the area of 1272 North Avenue NW before the female was self-transported to the hospital for treatment. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
