Arrest update: On February 5, 2026, Kwame Shabazz was taken into custody by the Gwinnett County Police Department. He has been extradited to the Atlanta Police Department and is awaiting transfer to the Fulton County Jail.

On February 5, 2026, the Atlanta Police Department held a press conference requesting the public's assistance locating sexual assault suspect Kwame Shabazz. Investigators are asking for anyone with information on Kwame Shabazz to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers.
Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $5,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspect. Tips can be submitted anonymously in the following ways:
