UPDATE:
After further investigation, Homicide investigators obtained arrest warrants for 73-year-old David Mays for Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail and is now in their custody.

Preliminary information: On Saturday, February 14, 2026, at approximately 3:05 p.m., Atlanta police responded to a person shot call at 3412 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. SW. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was not alert, conscious, or breathing suffering from a gunshot wound. Grady paramedics arrived on scene and pronounced the male deceased.
Officers have one male detained on scene in relation to the shooting. Homicide investigators were notified and will be working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
