Unauthorized Gathering Involving Unsupervised Juveniles

There were thirteen arrest, eleven firearms recovered, and 4 curfew violations.

The Atlanta Police Department responded to a planned unauthorized gathering referred to as a “Teen Takeover” on February 28, 2026, in the Beltline corridor and surrounding areas.
Prior to the event, officers increased patrols and allocated additional resources to ensure public safety. During the evening, large groups of unsupervised juveniles gathered near the Beltline and nearby businesses.
During the operation, Officers responded to a shots-fired call in the area of 755 North Ave NE, resulting in five arrests. Shortly thereafter, officers responded to a dispute at 789 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, where additional individuals were taken into custody.
In total, fourteen individuals were arrested in connection with the incidents. Officers recovered ten firearms.
Charges among those arrested include:
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Possession of a Handgun by a Person Under the Age of 18
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm)
  • Obstruction
  • Terroristic Threats
  • Reckless Conduct
  • Fleeing and Attempting to Elude
  • Possession of Marijuana (Less Than One Ounce)
A 15-year-old female was released to a parent, who was subsequently charged with a curfew violation.
