Investigators with the Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit are seeking the public’s assistance identifying the suspect seen below.

 

Preliminary information: On May 22, 2026, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to a report of a person shot near 501 Connell Ave SW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 62-year-old male who sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures, responding medical personnel pronounced the male deceased on the scene.

 

Preliminary investigation suggests that the victim and an unknown black male wearing black shorts, white and black sneakers, white socks and no shirt on, got into an argument that turned physical, and the suspect produced a firearm and subsequently shot the victim.

 

The investigation is active and ongoing.
