Arrest Update: On May 27, 2026, the Atlanta Police Department, with the assistance of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office, apprehended Mr. Amare Vance (08/2006) for his involvement in the shooting that occurred at 516 Lee ST SW. Mr. Vance has been charged with Aggravated Assault (x3), First-Degree Criminal Damage To Property (x3), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (x3), Reckless Driving, and Discharging a Firearm Near a Public Highway. Mr. Vance was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

Preliminary information: On May 27, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers responded to a report of a person shot near 516 Lee ST SW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 71-year-old male victim who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was outside of the incident location when a vehicle drove by and began shooting, striking the victim and multiple vehicles. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
