On July 2, 2026, the Atlanta Police Department hosted a July 4^th Safety Press Conference at Lenox Square.

Speaking during the press conference was City of Atlanta Chief Operating Officer LaChandra Burks, Chief of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department Rod Smith, Executive Director of E-911 Desiree Arnold, and Chief of the Atlanta Police Department Darin Schierbaum.
