On July 5, 2026, at approximately 0236 hours, units were dispatched to the 500 block of Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard NW in reference to a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper abdomen, another sustained gunshot wounds to the right hand and right thigh, and the third sustained a gunshot wound to the left calf. All three victims were alert, conscious, and breathing and were transported to Grady Hospital by Grady EMS for treatment.

The preliminary investigation determined that the incident originated from a physical altercation that escalated into a shooting.

 

The investigation is ongoing.
