Preliminary Information: On 07/04/26, officers responded to 1820 Peachtree St. in reference to civil demonstrators blocking the roadway. Upon arrival, officers observed several individuals attempting to block the roadway while bound together by a tethering device commonly referred to as a “sleeping dragon.” Officers made contact with the demonstrators’ organizer and successfully convinced the individuals to unlock themselves from the device and clear the roadway.

Officers collected all five “sleeping dragon” devices, which were submitted into evidence. The five individuals were arrested and charged accordingly for city ordinance traffic-related offenses, including Pedestrian in the Roadway, and were transported to the Atlanta City Detention Center.

They were identified as:

• Mary Hooks – Female, DOB 01/1982
• Ja’mae Rooks – Female, DOB 10/1992
• Kyrsten Tolliver – Female, DOB 04/12/2005
• Justine Veal – Female, DOB 05/1989
