Preliminary information: On July 30, 2026, at approximately 4:31 p.m., Atlanta Police responded to a report of a vehicle theft with a child inside the vehicle at 930 Spring St. NW. Preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was left running with a 2-year-old inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

 

Officers assigned to the Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit quickly located the vehicle, suspect, and child at 2020 Howell Mill Rd. NW. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The child was unharmed and reunited with their parents.

 

The suspect was identified as 21-year-old Saleem Martin and charges are pending.
