Preliminary Information: On 08/4/26, around 5:50 am, officers responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at the location of 1181 Lee St SW. Upon arrival, officers located a 69-year-old male lying in the roadway who had been struck by a hit-and-run vehicle. Grady EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. The vehicle fled the scene before police arrival. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was rolling slowly in the wheelchair Northbound in the curb of the Southbound lane of Travel. A Buick traveling Southbound on Lee St in the same lane struck the male in the wheelchair.  The Buick fled the scene. Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
