On 08/4/26, Homicide detectives took Mr. Naim Smith (DOB 11/2006) into custody with arrest warrants for his involvement in the incident that occurred 08/4/26 at 55 Maple St NW that left multiple persons shot and one male deceased. Mr. Smith was transported to APD Public Safety Headquarters to be processed and interviewed by detectives. Smith was subsequently charged with Murder,  2 counts of Aggravated Assault, and 3 counts of Armed Robbery. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail without incident. 

Multiple People Shot: 55 Maple St. NW

Preliminary information: On August 4, 2026, at approximately 3:01 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 1 officers responded to a report of multiple people shot at 55 Maple St. NW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located three adult male victims who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds. Two of the males were alert, conscious, and breathing and were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The third male was pronounced deceased on the scene by responding medical personnel.

While on the scene, officers were notified that an additional male with apparent gunshot wounds was transported to Grady Hospital by a private vehicle. He was alert, conscious, and breathing. Investigators with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
