Preliminary information: On August 31, 2026, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 1 officers responded to a report of a person shot near Paines Ave. NW & Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy. NW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers located a 37-year-old male victim who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was alert, conscious, and breathing, and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Preliminary information indicates the victim was walking in the area when he heard gunfire and subsequently sustained his injury. Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation continues.
