On September 1st, 2026, at approximately 2:09 a.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to reports of a person shot near 2113 Defoors Ferry Rd NW. Upon arriving on the scene, officers were informed that the victim was transported to the hospital by a male. Officers arrived at the hospital where they located a 22-year-old female who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical personnel. Investigators with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.  The investigation continues.
