Preliminary information: On September 2, 2026, at approximately 9:05 a.m., an Atlanta Police officer was conducting a directed patrol in the area of 1955 Compton Dr. SE when the officer discovered an adult male victim who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. Responding medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. Investigators with the Homicide Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
