Beyond APD, Moorman has served as an adjunct professor at multiple universities and was the first senior public safety official at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where his leadership helped it earn the title of the NFL’s #1 stadium for safety and security.

Promoted to major in 2020, he led APD’s community outreach during COVID-19, commanded the Major Crimes Section, and later returned to HJAIA as Airport Section Commander, managing a $23 million budget at the world’s busiest airport. Most recently, as Zone 1 commander, his leadership earned APD the 2023 Crime Reduction Award.

He is a graduate of the Atlanta Police Leadership Institute (Tier 4 & 5), Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, the Senior Management Institute for Police (PERF), and the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police Chief Executive Training Program.
