Major Karla Baldini joined the Atlanta Police Department in 2005 and currently serves as the Zone One Commander. During her career, she has served in a variety of assignments including Zone One, Zone Three, and the Atlanta Police Training Academy. From 2013 to 2016, she served as the Crime Stoppers Coordinator for Greater Atlanta, strengthening partnerships between the community and law enforcement to support crime prevention efforts. Prior to her current role, she served as the Assistant Zone One Commander from 2022 to 2025.

 

Major Baldini began her law enforcement career as a campus police officer at Indiana University while earning her degree in Criminal Justice. She then served with the Indianapolis Police Department before moving to Atlanta.  She is a Senior Instructor in the State of Georgia, conducting advanced training for law enforcement professionals. She is also a graduate of the University of Chicago Police Leadership Academy and the IACP Women’s Leadership Institute.
