Support Services Division

Deputy Chief Jeff Glazier is assigned to command the Support Services Division. The Support Services Division is responsible for the Corporate Services Section that oversees: APD’s $200 million budget, Personnel Services Section - Background and Recruitment and Personnel units, the Training Academy, the Information Services Section – Property and Evidence, Crime Lab, Fleet, Central Records and Supply and the E911 Communications Center that handles over 1 million calls for service annually. 

Deputy Chief Jeff Glazier commanded the Field Operations Division from 2016 to 2020.  He was responsible for the 950 men and women who patrol the city streets and respond to 911 calls from the six police precincts. He is a respected mentor and results driven commander who has extensive knowledge of crime fighting strategies and deploys resources to combat local and national crime trends. The City of Atlanta has seen overall crime reductions each year he has led the Division.

From 2010 to 2015 he served as Commander of the 3rd Precinct where he received the 2015 Crime Reduction Award and Director of the Herbert T. Jenkins Atlanta Police Academy where he was responsible for the training needs of the 2,400 sworn and civilian men and women of the Atlanta Police Department.

Deputy Chief Glazier holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame.  He is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Atlanta, the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior Management Institute for Police, the DEA Drug Unit Commander's Academy, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. In 2013, Deputy Chief Glazier traveled to Israel as part of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Program to share leadership ideas with Israeli Commanders. He is currently a Tier 5 graduate of the Atlanta Police Leadership Institute.

Deputy Chief Glazier is a P.O.S.T. certified instructor, certified Field Training officer, and has held the rank of patrolman, detective, sergeant, lieutenant and Major.  He works every day with business leaders and neighborhood residents to build a safer Atlanta.
